Copyright Registration

Registration with the U.S. Copyright Office and the Library of Congress is not required, and most self-publishing services charge additional fees for it. However, we feel that these two registrations are an essential part of publishing your book, and we include these services at no additional charge in all of our programs.

If you would like to take advantage of only this service, we will register your book in both the U.S. Copyright Office and the Library of Congress for only $249.

U.S. Copyright Office
To ensure complete protection of your book under U.S. copyright law, PublishNext will register your book with the United States Copyright Office. Once registered, your book's copyright is fully protected for your lifetime plus 70 years. We'll submit the required copies of your book and all the necessary paperwork. Notice of copyright is sent to you when we receive it, approximately six months to one year after completion of the publication process.

Library of Congress
The Library of Congress assigns a card catalog number for every submission to the Library's permanent collection. We'll submit a copy of your book to the Library of Congress and handle all of the paperwork.

The Library of Congress does not provide catalog numbers for books under 50 pages unless they are  children's books. The Library of Congress also reserves the right to refuse cataloging.
